Here's a close-up of the flowers on my African violet - inside the house. Flowers, flowers everywhere!
---------------------------------------------
Wednesday, March 21, 2012 - I took this photo of the African violet plant a couple days ago. This plant was started with one single leaf from the mother plant.

These are some of the prettiest African violet flowers I've ever seen. bud ya later, djb

HAPPY ST. PAT'S DAY!
---------------------------------------------
Saturday, March 17, 2012 - HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY to you!

This afternoon, right around 12:45 or so, I got a call from Julie. She asked me if I was home and I said that I was. And she said that she was coming right over.

When she got here she gave me this balloon and a shamrock plant because I'm half Irish.

Wasn't that sweet!! Awww Faith and begorrah. What a good friend. later, O'djb

Grandpa Cardinal was sitting near the water on the winter pool cover yesterday afternoon. Hey, let's go swimming!
----------------------------------------------
Friday, March 16, 2012 - It's so much fun to have warm weather but it's kind of sad to look at the pool and see that the cover is still on it. This is perfect weather for getting the pool up and running.

Yeah, and then in a few weeks, we'll have a snow storm. Well, there's always ice skating... I C ya later, djb

There's the full moon - minus one day - this morning at 5:55 a.m.
---------------------------------------------
Friday, March 9, 2012, - When I got up this morning and looked toward the west, I saw the bright almost full moon getting ready to hide behind the trees.

I ran outside in the driveway to get a good shot, but la Luna had already gotten behind a few branches. Did I mention that it was 27 degrees and I had no coat on and no shoes? But it didn't seem all that cold.

Spring is on the way. I hear the robins singing. LOVE IT! djb

Today is the full Worm Moon - March 8, 2012.
------------------------------------------
March 8, 2012 - 4:39 a.m. EST -- FULL WORM MOON. In this month, the ground softens and the earthworm casts reappear, inviting the return of the robins. The more northern tribes called this the Full Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signals the end of winter, or the Full Crust Moon because the snow cover becomes crusted from thawing by day and freezing at night. The Full Sap Moon, marking the time to tap maple trees, is another variation.

So, get your fishing poles ready if you use worms. But if you're like Andrew and Jarrett, you'll be getting your dogs ready... as in hot dogs. The fish in our lake LOVE hot dogs. That's funny. later, djb

Okay, so you want to talk about WEIRD. This is the driver's side of "Andrew's car" which I now drive. Where did they come from????
----------------------------------------------
Tuesday, March 6, 2012 - I first noticed those TWO spots on my window as I was driving home yesterday afternoon from Julie's house. Seemed kind of weird but I was otherwise distracted.

Then today, I realized it was another sign from Andrew and Jarrett. Two spots on the windshield that I wouldn't be able to miss. Okay, it took me a while....

Remember that this is the same car that wouldn't move right after Andrew died. We had it taken into the Honda place and there was NOTHING wrong with it.

We knew that Andrew did it. He loved that car. It cracks me up. Maybe you think I'm crazy, but I'm loving the signs. ~djb

Today at 4:49 p.m., I took a picture of the grave with the balloons from the other night in remembrance of Andrew's day. Snow is melting...
---------------------------------------------
Monday, March 5, 2012 - Today's the day Andrew was pronounced dead at 2:40 p.m. nine years ago. At the time, it wasn't unexpected but it was still heart wrenching.

Today, Andrew gave me a "sign" that he was with me. It's the coolest thing that could have happened, and there was absolutely no mistaking that it was from him!!!

Thanks, buddy. I miss you always. I'll love you forever and ever, your Mom

Here's Andrew holding his cousin, Micki. This was taken 13 or 14 years ago at Avis and Denny's house.
----------------------------------------------
Monday, March 4, 2012 - Last night, I got a call from Diane that Denny and Avis's dog, Micki, went to sleep forever.

They were in Florida for a variety of reasons, not the least of which was to celebrate the Bergs 66th wedding anniversary. So, Micki was staying at the vets up here.

But it's not a normal vet. They treated Micki like she was their own. When she started taking a turn for the worse the end of last week, they tried everything to save her but sometimes, it's our time to go and we can't do anything about it.

That news made me cry because Micki was such a dearly loved part of their family -- which is my family, too. The boys adored her and because of Micki, they wanted to get a beagle just like her. Please, mom....

After I got my wits about me, I realized that Micki died on March 4th. One day after Jarrett. One day before Andrew. She did that so we'd never forget her.

And we will never forget Micki. She was a special sweetheart. God bless you, Micki. Say arf to Hobbes from me. love ya, djb

Here's the closeup of the flowers I put out at Andrew and Jarrett's grave this morning at 9:06 a.m.

This shot shows the wreaths that I have on the shepherd's hook.
---------------------------------------------
Saturday, March 3, 2012 - It's finally March 3rd. I asked the boys for a sign that they're around me today. Already got two!!

First, when I was in the grocery store buying the balloons, I walked into the checkout lane, and there was BEN Britz!!! I haven't seen him in ages. He looks wonderful and he's coming to Schmidt's tonight to celebrate the lives of Andrew and Jarrett. It was so great to see him.

Then, as I was driving up our street to come home, there were TWO robins sitting in the road -- not moving! So that I would definitely notice two robins. Sign number two. They're the first robins I've seen this season. What a hoot.

Gotta go take care of business. talk to you later. djb

This is the front yard at 4:35 p.m. this afternoon. Let it snow!
---------------------------------------------
Friday, March 2, 2012 - We got a little bit of snow this afternoon. They got more snow up north than we did.

In fact, as I was writing this, the snow plow went by for the first time. But the road was pretty clear, mainly slushy.

At least, we aren't getting any tornadoes. It makes me feel sick when I see the pictures of the devastation from all those tornadoes. It's eerily similar to the weather we had last year.

yikes, djb
