On Monday, July 27, I took a picture of the two hibiscus trees that together had ten blooms on them. It was quite awesome to see in person!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thursday, July 30, 2009 - Whenever I see flowers on the hibiscus, it reminds me of Andrew and Jarrett because every year during the winter, these plants manage to give me at least two flowers a day -- once it starts blooming. It always makes me smile.

Not that I think they're causing it to happen but it just reminds me of them for some reason. Especially, when I see TWO of them. It's pretty sweet.

So, I have NO idea what ten flowers blooming means except that they're gorgeous!! They remind me of warm weather and the flowers make me happy. see ya later, djb

Andrew's holding Micki (when she was just a little pup) at our Christmas party at Avis and Denny's house. If I recall correctly, they adopted her in the fall of that year. But I wouldn't bet the ranch on it.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's Micki looking intently at Denny hoping that he'll be generous and share his lunch. Since it was a piece of pizza, she was out of luck, but that didn't stop her from trying with her pitiful puppy dog pose.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Monday, July 27, 2009 - When I put in the picture of Denny and Micki -- which I think is hysterical -- I remembered that I had a picture of Andrew holding her when she was very young. That night, when we were driving home, after they saw Micki, the boys wanted to get a DOG. Of course, we had to run that past Hobbes first, and he gave it the paws down!!

It was sunny earlier, now it's cloudy, maybe it's going to rain??? Later. Tonight. Tomorrow. Forever. This has been the coldest wettest summer in 50 or 60 or 70 years. Records that we do not want to break or tie. We'd prefer to break the HOTTEST summer records. Yes!!!

Squint at ya later. bye, djb

Here's a unclear shot of my front flower bed. I put this in here because it has Andrew and Jarrett's basketball hoop in the shot. Go Granny Shot, Queen!!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thursday, July 16, 2009 - It's really hard to get a good picture of the front flower bed (planted so I could keep an eye on the saintly boys) because it's so huge and it's so gorgeous that any mere picture does not do it justice - not even close!

Apparently, what I need is a camera that costs a couple of thousand dollars that has an extremely large lens on it that can take wide, clear pictures. Good idea for a birthday present. haha

Wish you were here, my sweet boys! see ya later, djb

Here's the picture of Jarrett that I put on AFTER I put the picture of Andrew on here. I'm still learning how to use the blogger blog tools. Yes, it is confusing.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the picture of Andrew that I have in the living room next to the picture of Jarrett. The reason I put this on here today is because Uncle Bergy is playing golf at Hughes Creek (Andrew's golf course) this morning.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Friday, July 10, 2009 - It just started to thunder...yikes! I'm going to have to shut this baby down pretty soon if it sounds like it's getting close. Although, now it's stopped for a minute but it's still raining. I looked at the map and it's not really bad....the very bad stuff is south of us.

Bergy's out at Hughes Creek with his cronies -- they WERE golfing. oops. He just called me and they have to stop playing because of the storm. Not such a good day to play golf, I guess. He asked me, "why does it always rain when we come here to golf?" Hmm, because it always rains here every single day, I guess. I'm getting ready to build an ark if that's any consolation.

Okay, I'll put this up on the www. haha bye, djb

Here's Chad and Julie in the pool on Sunday, the 5th of July. I blew up Shamu before they got here -- it's actually Chad's toy, but I think Julie play with Shamu more than Chad does!! haha
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tuesday, July 7, 2009 - Thought I'd better get this picture on here from the 4th of July weekend before it gets to be August!!

I know that we had Shamu at our house before the boys' died but I don't have pictures of them playing on it....that's kind of odd. Although, Chad used to bring it here and then take it with him to Wisconsin to use it in the lake up there, so maybe Shamu just was never here for a photo op.

We had a such a nice time on Sunday sitting out by the pool in the sun. If we had done that on Saturday (the real 4th of July), we would have been rained on and clouded over.

And I did put my flag out on Sunday. It looked so beautiful waving in the light breeze. God bless America, for sure. bye for now, djb

Tempera painting done by Jarrett in first grade. Photo taken by Aunt Diane.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saturday, July 4, 2009 - While I was going through the pictures from the 4th of July (2007), I came across this photo of a painting done by one of the boys. Since I couldn't remember who did it, I had to disassemble the frame and undo the tape to find out that it was painted by Jarrett when he was in first grade. I totally love the sun -- it's quite cosmic looking.

It's VERY cold here today compared to summer. No one is sure why we're having such crappy weather this year? Is it a part of the global warming effect? Is it just our bad luck? I so remember when this time of year was warm and mostly sunny. This weather is just not right.

As I go back and re-read my entries in the old journals, it's amazing how much more diligent I was in the old days about writing every day. Of course, being sick for the past year didn't help very much in that regard. Having the constant feeling of a toothpick poking in one's eyeball isn't exactly conducive to wanting to write or read much of anything else.

It's time for me to do something that involves driving to a store and buying food. haha later, djb
